Looking for more than technical progress.

The work of the FVV benefits not only its member companies and research partners but society at large. We contribute to the strengthening of the small and medium sized business sector and we enable effective research on the part of scientific institutions. Our work also helps to protect the environment.

Supporting SMEs

We improve the competitiveness of our SME members by helping them offer innovative products that are in line with market demands at an optimal price-performance ratio. Pre-competitive joint research helps to cut costs, provides access to fresh know-how and allows the development of advanced combustion engines and their technical accessories. We give special support to the research and development activities of small and medium sized enterprises.

New chances for science

Intensive dialog with the industry gives our scientific partners new incentives for their research work – in terms of subjects and finance. Furthermore, the projects are highly significant for the practical training of tomorrow’s leading scientists and engineers. After their involvement in research projects, junior staff with university degrees and doctorates also have potential roles as the industry’s future managers.

Environmentally sound technology

By raising the efficiency of engines and turbines we help to make them more environmentally friendly. The continuous optimization of combustion efficiency and emissions saves resources and protects the environment. Improved constructions raise functional reliability and, therefore, safety.
