After the cancellation of the FVV 2020 Spring Conference, the autumn meeting will also be digitalised and held in September // The programme and schedule are currently being coordinated with the Research & Technology Performers // The agenda, which is usually full of interim and final project reports, could be restructured if it is transported online
Reluctantly and definitely with utmost regret, we have decided in agreement with the FVV Board that the FVV 2020 Autumn Conference in Würzburg on 24/25 September 2020 will not be held as a face-to-face event as usual.
It is currently not yet possible to hold larger events for more than one hundred participants in Bavaria. Even if the restrictions were to be relaxed by the end of September 2020, the currently valid regulations for any major conventions, in particular the distance regulations, would most likely remain in place. A conference in the usual format cannot be held under these constraints.
In the next few weeks, the FVV Team will develop a web-based convention format to host the information sessions (Day 1 - Presentation of the final project reports) as well as the statutory internal committee meetings (Day 2 – Scientific Advisory Committee, Meeting of the Members, eventually Planning Groups) in September online.
As soon as we have completed these plans together with the Research & Technology Performers, you will receive further information.
We very much regret that also in autumn we will not be able to see each other personally. But digital media can help us these days: in addition to our standard online offerings on the FVV website and in THEMIS, we have launched a monthly newsletter at the beginning of the year and, most recently, also a new thematic platform with interesting interviews, stories and reports on our key research areas. We would be happy to invite you to take a look at these pages at some point.
And above all, please stay healthy.
The FVV 2021 Spring Conference is scheduled to be held in Würzburg from 25 to 26 March 2021.
We look forward to meeting you there!
