Switzerland is new partner of the European collective research networking CORNET – Swiss Federal Office of Energy (SFOE) is funding bilateral R&D projects – FVV initiated two energy efficiency pilot projects with Swiss RTD performers.
The CORNET network has grown: The Swiss Federal Office of Energy (SFOE) recently joined CORNET, the leading European collective research networking of national and regional funding programmes, and will be facilitating together with German, European and International partners pre-competitive research and development projects.
CORNET´s new Swiss partner organisation, the SFOE, is the country’s competence centre in matters of energy supply and energy use at the Federal Department of the Environment, Transport, Energy and Communications (DETEC). The cooperation with the SFOE came into being because two German-Swiss pilot projects have been initiated by the FVV dealing with the improvement of energy efficiency.
The first research project deals with wall heat transfer processes in spark ignition (SI) engines (FVV Planning Group 2 »Combustion SI« | 1286), the second project aims to increase the efficiency of diesel engines through partially premixed diesel combustion with multiple injections (FVV Planning Group 3 »Combustion CI« | M3215). The research projects will be jointly carried out by the FVV, the Aerothermochemistry and Combustion Systems Laboratory of ETH Zurich’s Energy Science Centre and several research institutions from Germany.
FVV members will find further information about the research projects in our project management database THEMIS.
