Season's greetings

There is no single solution for the energy or transport transition, as the challenges of transformation are numerous and great. But there are many ways to master this key task for the future. The technical solutions already exist or are at least on the verge of a breakthrough. All we need to do is create a culture that allows us to make the best use of climate change technologies in order to decarbonise power generation and mobility effectively. The FVV is in a good position for the future. The process that we started with ›Make it new‹ a few years ago has led to a new self-image that you, our members and research partners, are advancing every day with new ideas. The two transfer + networking events in spring and autumn were well attended, the discussions were challenging and the resulting new research projects were of high quality. The new expert groups ›Energy Infrastructure and Storage‹ and ›Electric Motors‹ have started their work and will soon be launching their first concrete projects. Unlike other transfer and technology platforms, the FVV is a ›collaborative undertaking‹: industry-oriented research can only succeed where it is developed and designed together.

Which is why we would like to thank you very much for the great projects we have been working on together during this year, for the trust you have placed in us and especially for your valuable cooperation. Please keep contributing new forward thinking topics and ideas to our joint research work in 2024.

Review of the year

GREEN ENERGY FOR EUROPE
Peter Gutzmer interviewed by energie+MITTELSTAND

In his last interview as Chairman of the FVV, Prof. Peter Gutzmer reveals why he is advocating a science-based and pragmatic approach to the energy transition in the transport sector right now. In the interview, he also explains why a mix of carbon-neutral transformation paths can significantly accelerate the energy transition in transport - and the part the import of green molecules can play in this.

The newly elected  and reelected Chairmen of the FVV Board Dr Markus Schwaderlapp (DEUTZ) and Christopher Steinwachs (Siemens Energy) are delighted that the distinguished mobility expert will continue to collaborate with the FVV in the role as an honorary chairman.
